The perfume is named after Paris, the adored city of Yves Saint Laurent, who created it as a tribute to the Parisiennes who are always elegant, romantic, vivacious, ironic, simple and charming. Paris is a brilliant harmony of roses and violet flowers. This woody-floral starts with bergamot and violet, followed my may rose and iris at its heart, ending with sensational warmth of sandalwood.

I was very keen to wear this perfume many years ago so I excitedly sprayed myself before work one day. My colleague kept saying throughout the day ' what's that smell!" I couldn't smell anything. "It smells like fly spray!". I still couldn't smell anything. And then in the tea room she proclaimed loudly, 'Its' you, that smell". So much for impressing the crowd with an expensive perfume!!! It wouldn't even kill flies! After I'd showered several times I relegated the Paris perfume to the laundry to spray on my wash. Life lesson learned, always get someone else to smell the perfume on you before buying.

Whenever I wear this I am transported to my early twenties - a carefree and exhilarating time in my life. Full of possibilities, rich in experiences and full of wonder. YSL Paris echoes that time in it's notes - layers of beauty and youth, a classic set in a time I look back at with a smile. It never fails to lift my mood and make me feel just a little bit like that young woman whose whole future was laid out in front of her. A beautiful spring fresh floral, a dew soaked morning in Paris - divine!\n

I have worn Paris for 30 years and to this day I will walk into a room and men and women ask what perfume I am wearing because the perfume is so perfect.
Not overpowering and certainly delicate it is wonderful.

The most floral of fragrances with roses, violets, bergamot and a hint of sandalwood. My cousin introduced me to this scent many years ago. I was in awe of her sophistication, so closely associate this with her natural elegance. I fell in love with it as much as she did but it was subtly different on each of us. I really like this about good perfumes: they don't overpower but adapt to you and become 'yours'. I don't wear this much in winter as it is a summer scent for me. Must come from the fact that I'd buy it duty free when leaving for overseas then wear it daily while enjoying long summer evenings in Europe. After a while all my luggage would be very subtly Paris-scented. To me this starts as a fresh floral fragrance that becomes warmer and deeper over time. I think it's a perfect scent to give to a younger girl. \n

This is a beautiful multi-floral perfume with features rose. It's very pretty and feminine, yet there is something about the combination of scents that makes it still sophisticated and not boring like some other single-note floral perfumes. It's something that you can ear day or night as it's not too overpowering. Even though I got to know this perfume when I was at university, it's one that is timeless and you can get away with wearing at any age.\n

This exquisite fragrance from YSL has been a long time favourite of mine.\n\nTo be honest, I'm a sucker for any fragrance, body product, or skincare range that strongly feature Roses. I truly love the aroma and find myself gravitating to Floral perfumes with a predominant Rose note.\n \nIn fact Paris was the first Rose based perfume I tried, way back in the 1980's. I loved it so much, it kickstarted my love affair with most things Rose based.\n\nParis has other equally delightful floral notes i.e. Violet & Iris, has a dash of citrus with Bergamot and is grounded with Sandalwood, Vetiver & Vanilla. It's a magical combination of notes that are beautifully blended into the best Rose based fragrance on the market.\n\nI've owned this a number of times over 30 years & feel my fragrance collection is incomplete if I don't have a bottle on my dresser. A true fragrance classic every woman deserves to own! \n

This is one of my all time favourite fragrances, its the first fragrance my husband ever gave me and since I receive a bottle every valentines day. I love its sweet feminine smell, it has timeless appeal and is hard to beat to feel pretty, its not too strong and its light floral scent is so romantic. I highly recommend buying this to feel pretty and feminine

I ADORE this perfume. It is a classic. It is the perfect every day perfume. Not too overpowering. It has a lovely floral scent and has major lasting power throughout the day. I always have a bottle handy in my bathroom cabinet. Just love it. I would highly recommend this product to those who prefer a lighter, floral scent.
