Where does sensitive tooth pain come from?

As gums recede, parts of your teeth that aren't protected by enamel become uncovered.
This leads to exposed dentine with thousands of microscopic pathways leading into the tooth's nerve centre.
When teeth make contact with something hot, cold or sweet, sensations are carried directly to the nerves, causing painful tooth sensitivity

Contains active ingredients potassium nitrate and sodium fluoride. Also contains saccharin.

Directions For Use

Apply approximately 2.5cm strip of the product to a soft toothbrush. - Brush for at least one minute. Make sure to brush all sensitive areas of the teeth. - Do not swallow. Rinse with a small amount of water. - Brush thoroughly at least twice a day or as directed by your dental professional.

Adult usage. Carton ends are sealed. Do not use if seals are broken.

Store below 30ºC.

I've recently had a tooth removed and suffered extreme sensitivity from the procedure and recovery process. To my surprise, this product really helped ease alot of the discomfort I had morningand night from cleaningmy teeth. I have tried other sensitive toothpastes in the past that were sensitive... but I never felt like my teeth/mouth were thoroughly cleaned. However, this one certainly did the job for both issues! Very impressive and I intend to buy again in the future.

I can now never imagine using any other toothpaste. This toothpaste provided so much relief to my sensitive gums and teeth and eased my pain and sensations after eating too cold, hot or spicy food. The toothpaste has natural taste and fragrance. I recommend this to everyone who even has a slight condition of sensitive teeth and gums and they can see the results in a short time as a week. It made sensitivity in my mouth so much better in using for less than two weeks.

I was very pleased with the results I received with this toothpaste. It tasted great and was pleasant to use and very effective. I found that my teeth were not sensitive when I used this toothpaste over two weeks, and my mouth felt clean and fresh. I would recommend this toothpaste to anyone who is after an effective toothpaste for sensitive teeth, which tastes great and is pleasant to use.

This product actually seems to be working for me. I have noticeably less pain when trying to enjoy icecream and cold drinks, in fact there is true enjoyment. I have also noticed that I am chewing on the side of the mouth that I have been avoiding due to pain. My only real peeve is the packaging, or rather the lid. It would be great if the lid was wider so the tube could stand on it's end rather than having it lay flatly in the shaving cabinet. Just a thought.

I have tried almost all brands on the market to see what works best for me. For a long time Sensodyne was the market leader but I had used Colgate products most of my life so I was excited when they released their sensitive toothpaste range. I find this toothpaste has provided a good barrier against hot/cold foods that would normally trigger a painful reaction. There is no residue which is often the case with other brands. It leaves me with a thoroughly clean fresh feeling. I'm confident the longer I use this, the better the results will be. But for now I am very pleased with how it has performed.

It didn't have that gritty feel that some toothpastes for sensitive teeth have. It also helped my teeth feel less sensitive. The only thing that I didn't like was that the toothpaste didn't create a good foam in my mouth when I brushed. I know this might not affect the performance of the toothpaste but I don't feel my teeth are really clean unless I get a lot of foam. I would recommend this product to people I know who have sensitive teeth like myself.

It is much nicer than many of the other sensitive tooth pastes I have tried in the past & is competitively priced. It left my teeth feeling very clean & helped reduce my tooth sensitivity within a few days. It's level of effectiveness continued to improve with regular use over the two week trial. I will defiantly be buying this tooth paste again as I am very please with the results.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Colgate sensitive advanced clean toothpaste was easy to use and left my teeth feeling extremely clean. The added benefit of a tooth paste which helped with my sensitive teeth was was very useful and made brushing my teeth a more pleasant experience in these colder days when water temperature is colder when rinsing out. This sensitive teeth tooth paste also seemed to help when I was drinking hot beverages. I would recommend it to friends if the topic every came up for discussion.
