Combur-9 Test: unique design and well thought-out technology, Combur-Test strips of Roche Diagnostics are distinguished by a particular test strip design:
- The reagent paper and underlying absorbent paper are held in place on a stiff white carrier foil via a fine porous nylon mesh laminated to the foil itself. Sensitive test areas are protected against contact, contamination and abrasion. The mesh enables rapid and uniform penetration of urine into the test area, ensuring uniform color development. The absorbent paper prevents interference by absorbing excess urine. And the long strip handle contributes to safe handling.
- The test areas assure good readability against the white background of the carrier foil. The comparison colors printed on the vial label in a special printing procedure allow easy evaluation of test results.
- Combur-Test strips are highly sensitive. There is virtually no interference with vitamin C in the glucose and blood test fields through protection by iodate, even in the presence of high concentrations of ascorbic acid.

Good product. Easy to use if you follow the instructions.
These are easy to use, but hard to get out of the container - so not the best choice for someone with arthritis in the hands. They don't bleed easily from one test pad to another as long as you hold them flat. I would recommend Combur 10 (by the same manufacturer) over these, because they also measure specific gravity. They seem to be accurate or at least consistent. Two strips used in the same urine produces the same result. The instruction are clear and easy to follow for the lay person. Make sure you hold the strips the right way round, when comparing them to the template on the container. It is the opposite way to what one would intuitively do. The strips stay in the colour range on the template - no odd colours that are not on the chart. I was using them to test for blood and ph, when they picked up another problem I was unaware I had.

Give you the answers you need without needing to visit your GP
The big advantadge of this product is the information you get in such a fast and simple way without needing to make apointments with a health practitioner in order to be told what you already knew. Mind you, if there is a problem, you still need to see your Doctor , but you know beforehand if you need the visit or not. Apart from that, these strips last for a long time, not like other brands that start losing efficiency too soon, a good thing as you do not use them that often but just when symptoms appear

Useful for people who have frequent urinary symptoms
This is useful if you often have the symptoms of urinary tract infections (eg frequency) but usually don't have any infection. Instead of getting checked by a doctor every time, you can check your urine yourself, and then only go to the doctor if your results are positive. Just make sure that you find out how to interpret the results! I'm very pleased that this company makes its urinary sticks available to all.

Good product
Seems to be a good product. I use it for checking kidney function and lymphocytes in the urine as I get kidney infections easily, it can be used to see how one is travelling health wise.

Excellent for testing
I have bought Combur-9 test kit a few times. I sometimes get kidney infections and it is really handy to be able to test the urine sample to see if anything is really going on there.
