Biotene Oral Balance Moisturising Gel has changed.
I am sorry to say this is not going to be a good review. I have been purchasing Oral Balance for 25 years and actually rely on it. The four tubes I recently purchased are different. The viscosity of the gel is very thin compared with how it used to be. When swirled around the mouth it just disappears straight away instead of leaving a moist coating. It also stings my tongue and throat. Also the tube I am using is disappearing faster than the old thicker consistency tubes did. I am so disappointed because there is nothing else on the market, that I have ever come across that could compare to Oral Balance. I was thinking of writing to GlaxoSmithKline to voice my disappointment.

No other choice
Unfortunately for someone with Obstructed Sleep Apneoa, this is the only produc available on the market for dry mouth. It is expensive, does not really keep the mouth moist during the night either. I am awoken 2-3 times during the night to re-use, therefore, a tube will only last me a week at the most. It seems the content is not as thick as it used to be and more runny meaning more is needed to be used each time. My doctor can not suggest any other product and neither can any pharmacist.
