I bought this 2 days ago and it has made my skin the worst it has ever been in my life. my face is red, burnt, and dry and irritated the acne already on my face. I feel so disgusting and my face hurts. I would never recommend this to anyone and I don't know how this is allowed to be sold. I am so upset.

The face wash worked well and my face felt very clean afterwards however it did feel stripped and quite dry after use. I had to use other serums and moisturizers to restore to keep it hydrated. It didn't irritate my face at all and helped to keep breakouts and the oil under control. The fragrance was quite strong and almost medical smelling but I didn't mind it. Overall this is a good facewash for the price however slightly a bit too drying, especially during winter.

Initially when I had used this, I had only had a 1 or 2 visible forehead pimples with a few small spots which are not prominently visible unless it is viewed close up. However, I was hoping that the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash would be able to assist and target the visible red acne spot so after testing it, NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD THERE BEEN SO MANY BREAKOUTS! After testing it, my forehead had broke out with so many red spots along with my nose area, as I had applied some to my nose. My skin had also felt extremely dry afterwards but I am feeling way more disappointed with the extreme flaring up. I don't often write reviews but after the absolute harmfulness of this product, I have been compelled to warn others about this product. Once, again, I am extremely dismayed at how this product had exacerbated the condition of my skin - triggering the appearance of more red spots rather than targeting and concealing them. Never recommend this product!

This is the first time I feel my skin burn, itchy and irritated after using a skincare product contains acid. My skin is not sensitive and I moisturise it right after washing. Now I saw many other reviewers talked about how bad it is for their skin but it seems like the feedbacks were not listened. Neutrogena must take this one off the market, or adjust its formula if you want to keep selling it.

I bought this cleanser specifically for the 2% salicylic acid and I thought it would be a good active to use in a wash on-wash off method. I have used acids before and currently use Tretinoin nightly. The first time I used this cleanser my mum was shocked at how red my face was. But I thought maybe my skin just needs to get used to it. So I used it a 2nd time and I'm red as a beetroot and my skin feels tight. Even after moisturising afterwards with Cerave that contains ceramides. Will my skin ever adjust to this face wash or will I turn bright red every time? Horrible.

On closer look in the mirror, this face wash has caused a breakout over my entire face of tiny white pimples which I have never had before. My face is burning, stinging and feels red raw. It is so bumpy on every part of my face. This is a horrible cleanser and I'm so disappointed to see it caused it to other people and I didn't read the reviews first! Not sure how long this will last but wow never had a problem with my skin before :( WARNING!

It’s quite difficult to find a cleanser that fights my oily pores and won’t dry my skin out at the same time. I was pleasantly surprised by this product. I still need to use moisturiser afterwards, but it definitely didn’t leave my skin tight and itchy like a lot of other face care products do. The qty from 1 pump is more than enough for my face and neck. It rinses off well and I don’t feel any residue. My face feels cleaner and my pores are certainly smaller. I enjoyed this product test

Instead it was a nice soapy smell. The product felt light while I washed my face. I have an oily skin type though after using this product my skin didn't feel oily nor did my skin feel dry.

My face has been clear and has felt fresh while using this product and I have enjoyed using it. This cleanser does have a faint smell, but it is actually quite nice. The pump is a super handy feature, but something to be mindful of is that it is easy to accidentally dispense more product than you need from it. All in all, quite happy with the product.

The cleanser has 2% salycilic acid (BHA) which can help acne prone skin. This is also surprisingly gentle on the skin. I have combination skin thsa leans more oily in the t zone and did not find this stripping or drying. For my acne, it was semi effective though I have found more effective products since. That being said, I still think it warrants 5 stars for those who are wanting to try something cheap and easily accessible!

Rated 1 out of 5 by 5258 from Left my face red and raw after single use I don't have particularly sensitive skin and I don't suffer allergies, but this stuff has left me with a red rash covering my entire face/neck. It feels as though I have bad sunburn. I only used it once, and didn't use much at all so I'm surprised at the extent of my skin's reaction. There must be some pretty serious chemicals going on in that bottle! Definitely wouldn't recommend to those with sensitive skin/eyes.

I’ve NEVER had a reaction like this to any skincare, I’ve used and I like to experiment. I cleansed like usual, dried my face and then it was burning so bad it felt like my face was melting!! I now have bubbles all over my skin where I used this product and it’s unbelievably itchy.

Works well to dissolve oil and penetrate the pores dissolving oils in clogged pores. Cleared my acne and prevented new ones from forming. I only use it once a day. People with normal to dry skin i advise using alt days.

Once pumped onto my hands minimal amount is required per use as a light fome formes. The texture on my face was refreshing and delightful after every rinse.

It is extremely crap! It says doesn’t dry ur skin out what a load of crap completely drys it out. Not happy at all! Would really like my money back! An I will not recommend this product.

I used a small amount of it at night. The next day I developed a hot, red rash on my face and some of my neck and the only difference from my usual routine/environment was this cleanser. The texture of my skin is still very rough. I usually would not leave a review, and feel a bit silly since I couldn't patch test, but I have never ever had such a reaction to a product. I've used some other neutrogena products with no issues. I wouldn't say I have very sensitive skin, so this was very surprising/concerning to me, as was seeing others post that they have the same reaction. That being said, I gave it to a friend who asked for it as they use it and don't have a problem.
