I was fortunate enough to receive the Schick Hydro Silk razor in my Best In Beauty prize pack. I have been using my husbands Gilette men’s facial razor and after using this I’ll never go back.
The handle is comfortable and fits perfectly in my hand and the 5 blades skim effortlessly across my skin and have cut my shaving time down by more than half. There is no more going over and over the same area, one pass was enough for a very close shave.<br />The moisturising strip added hydration and didn’t irritate my sensitive skin.
My only negative is that the razor can be difficult to manoeuvre in the tight contours of my ‘personal’ areas, I’m used to smaller blades.

Best In Beauty 2014
This razor is in the top 2 favourite razors for me because it just works so well! The handle isn't too large so it's easy and comfortable to hold when using it and makes sure that there's no chance of it slipping out of your hand when you use it in the shower.
The 5 blade head really helps to get a close shave which allows you to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Whilst it is a close shave, its never caused me to cut and scratch myself with the blades.
The moisturising serum helps the blades glide over the skin and definitely leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised. The blades stay sharp for quite a while so there's no need to constantly change the head.

So Smooth
I received this razor as a free sample and I have been using this for a few months now. Woah! i was really impressed.
I used the razor while in the shower and the water activated the gel which helped the blades to glide so smoothly. It gave such a nice close shave and left my skin moisturised, unlike when i use other razors. I was surprised at how smooth my skin felt.
I also love the shape of the handle which fits nicely in my hand. It also has a soft rubber grip which makes it easier to hold.
Overall, I'm very happy with this product. It's my favourite razor at the moment that actually make me feel like shaving.

Awesome!
I got this razor as a freebie via Schick's Facebook page (thank you, by the way)... I usually like to use the Schick Quattro with the wires on the razors so you don't nick yourself, and I have been using them for as long as I can remember, I decided that I would bravely try something new. I can't tell you how glad I am that I tried this!
5 blades means not only do you get a closer shave and your skin feels smoother, but it also means you have to shave less often, which in the long run, is better for your skin! I highly recommend this razor to anyone who is in need of a change.
Also, the head of the razor is able to be bent back just enough to accommodate underarms and legs!

This is the best razor I've used by far! I won this razor only recently and I love it!
I don't know why, but I'm prone to nicking myself everytime I shave. It may be because I'm rushing, but I have never nicked myself since using the Hydro Silk! I am so impressed and I enjoy shaving now.
The five blades feature is excellent and gets all the hair in one motion.<br />I've noticed my hair growth has slowed too, which is beyond amazing!
My skin feels so much softer now after shaving - and this before moisturising mind you!
I can't speak highly enough of this razor and this gets my vote for the Best Hair Removal!

Amazing, makes me actually want to shave!
I'm not a frequent shaver, I believe it's way too much trouble for the benefit, and I honestly don't care about hairy legs.
That being said, this razor makes me want to shave!
Firstly, I love the handle shape and size. The way it is crafted and molded is just amazing and fits so perfectly into my hand. It's the main thing I love about this razor!
The shaver's head was really quite nice and moisturizing, although I haven't used it more than once and as usual with moisturizing shaver heads I'm sure it will fall apart quickly, and stop with the moisturizing, which is a pity, but the handle is my favorite ever!

Great razor - Glosscars
This is one great razor! To look at visually there is nothing special about it, no gimicks like scented handles but it works better than any I've tried before. I have very thick hair on my legs that grows extremely fast. With other razors I had to shave at least every second day but since using this razor I'm down to shaving only twice a week. YAY! The blades give an extremely close shave while moisturising your legs at the same time. It has a great handle making it very easy and quick to use and it runs over the contours of my legs and underarms very smoothly. It also doesn't blunt anywhere near as quickly as all other razors I've tried. It is definitely my holy grail of razors.

This is the best razor I have ever tried and believe me I have tried many! This is the only one that provides smooth and silky hair free skin for days. The results of this razor are absolutely superb and the water activated gel head is very moisturising to the point I dont even need to use shaving foam I just use some body wash to provide some slip. The scent of this is heavenly and paired with the lovely ergonomic handle it really does not surprise me that I have decided to repurchase refills once I finish using it! Thank you so much BH for providing me with this I will never go without one of these.

Schick Hydro Silk
I have used the Schick Hydro Silk razor for many years as it is a great and reliable razor which I know works very well, the cut of hair
is so close to the skin I don’t have to shave as often as I have had to with other brands. It does not irritate my skin which gives me piece of mind knowing I can use it with confidence and won’t get any irritation I think this is partly because of the gel attached to the razor.
I buy this in a pack with the refill cartridges from the chemist which lasts me usually many months to a year or more as I have had laser hair removal so don’t need to shave as often as I once did.
I would definitely recommend this razor to normal and sensitive skin types.

Love this razor
First and foremost thank you so much for the trial.
I have tried many razors before and i can say this one is one of the top ones. A sure must on the shopping list.
I have used this about 6 times since i got to trial it. I am amazed at how long the blades lasted till they needed to be replaced. The serum also lasted quite a while and infact i can still get more use out of this.
The handle itself is a very pretty blue colour. Really lives to it's hydro name.
The only think which prevented me from giving it a 5 was the contouring. I did not feel as if it contoured enough but i did not get any nicks either.
I will definitely recommend this to my friends and will continuing using it.

Love love!
I loved the razor, I'd forgotten what it was like to have a nice close shave! The razor is easy to handle, doesn't slip in my hands (equalling less nicks and cuts, woo!), bends around my knees easily (wow – it was so good!) – you have no idea how bad disposables are until you try a good razor and remember. The shave was quick, easy (yes, I'm also a speed shaver – why waste time on these things?) The fact it removes the need to use shaving cream is also a big bonus, but still moisturise afterwards!!
And the thing that got me was how simple the holder was – why use extra plastic that will get turned into landfill when you can have a little one? And it doesn't fall off :) Perfect 5/5 Schick!

Soft and silky shave
I received this product as part of my Best in Beauty prize pack. I had never used this before receiving it
Razors are my saviours. Due to running a family, hubbys business on the side, working fulltime and blogging part time, I rarely have time for self maintenance. I wish I had 30 mins to sit and relax and wait for a depilatory cream to dissolve my hairs and wash away, but I don't.
Schick Hydro silk is easy to use. Its smooth on the skin and I haven't had a nick in the skin yet! I love how close it shaves. I don't get red or irritated and definitely no stinging. I occasionally get itchy when shaving but I dont with this shaver
I am super happy with this product and will purchase again.

Trial Team Review
This is the last time I will use a razor designed for women. I can't stand the huge heads and built-in moisturisers that don't work. This razor would be great for legs and probably feel really cushy, but I don't shave my legs and I found it impossible to get a close shave with this razor on my arms and elsewhere. The bulky head is hard to manoeuvre and after a day of leaving it on the rack in the shower, the moisturiser strips had swelled up so the razors couldn't get close to my skin. I had to peel them off so I could use it. The packaging was great - razor was easy to remove, so points for that, and it's easy to hold, but I will go back to using mens' razors in future so I can get a close shave.

The best a beauty can get!
I've never really used Schick razors, but I am very glad I tried this one! It is more than deserving of its Best in Beauty 2012 award!
It gives a smooth, close shave with no irritation or dryness whatsoever. I usually use this razor with soap and it still performs great. What makes this razor perform so well is that the moisturising strip actually works, and even lathers a little, which helps the razor to glide easily over your skin
I can't think of any negatives as I really like this product. I would highly recommend this product to any beauties out there looking for a new razor!

Best In Beauty 2013
After using hair removal creams for years, I noticed my daughter was repeatedly buying this product so decided to try it for myself.
It's converted me from creams, and this is now my hair removal product of choice. It's a very well designed product and I like how it clearly has been designed with women in mind.
The 5 blades plus water-activated serum both combine for a very close, comfortable & nick-free shaving experience. I also like the unique handle design & that I can store my razor on the shower wall. The bonus blade with the packet makes it excellent value for money too.

Feels like I've waxed
I have been waxing my legs for about 18 months but I was getting really sick of the growing out period so I switched back to shaving. The first few razors I tried weren't fantastic and I was really starting to regret my decision, then I picked up this razor! It drew me to it with the pretty packaging and the nice blue colour of the razor. I use a shaving cream with this razor and it gives a completely hair free result. The first time I used it my boyfriend asked me if I had had my legs waxed again. My legs were so smooth and it was really easy to reach hard to reach places with the swivel head. I will be buying this razor from now on. I really enjoyed how moisturised and nourished my legs felt after using it.

Trial Team- love love love
i got this razor throught trial team and wasn't particularly impressed with packaging, more impartial, it isn't anything fancy, HOWEVER the razor is actually amazing! I have always thought that razors are all the same, boys ones, girls ones, cheapies, expensive, so i've never treated myself to a fancy one before. This is mid range and brilliant. It curves with your body (i used it on bikini line, underarms and legs) and i feel 100% confident i wont cut myself. i havent had a single razor rash, even on bikini line that gets done every night and is prone to. I dont even know how it's possible but i feel like my legs ned less frequent shaving also. i will definitely buy this again and was really really impressed.

Gentle razor
I find this razor is a lot more flexible around curves. It feels really gentle and gives a close shave. I also love the little holder that suctions to the bathroom wall (it's never fallen off). The one thing that's weird is depending what soap you're using, the moisturiser that the razor releases sometimes doesn't mix well, and I had a sticky mixture on my skin - but that washed off fine. I think the moisturiser released by the razor does have an effect on decreasing skin irritation.
This razor feels really good quality when I use it, and I'm glad I chose this in beautorium!

One of my favorite editions for summer
Finding a good razor is an extremely hard task, so far I have found that men's razors have been more worthwhile purchasing for the results
However this razor has now changed the game - with the 5 blades it proves a close clean shave and with the soap coats on both the top and both of the blades, it ensures that your shave is smooth and soft for days (yes days!) after you actually shave
The packaging is a little bit cumbersome, but I liked how it included an extra blade in the package
Highly recommend, I will definitely be repurchasing!

Close and irritation-free shave
This. Product. I LOVE this product! I used to use those horrible cheap razors. You know, the ones you have to replace after every use or risk skinning your legs? I mean, I was young, and carefree, and naive..... sigh
But THIS razor: I got free through a schick promotion. The moisture plates mean that you don't even need to use shaving cream as it is inbuilt. The five blades mean that hair is cut really close. The replaceable blades mean that you don't have to pay for a whole new razor every time. This also means less trash when it comes to throwing used heads out: winning!

Close shave
Tried this for BH trial team, came just in time as i was in need of a new razor. The packaging was nice. With my first i got a nice smooth cut free shave because of the combination of 5 blades and the gel activated strips, there was no need to go over again as the shave was close enough. But with the second use i ended up cutting my legs a few times, although it could have to do with that i didn't use shaving cream. I felt that the handle was a little awkward to hold depending on the position, but overall i really liked this razor, which i good as i am fussy about razors.

My Favourite Schick Razor
Out of all the Schick razors I love this the best - it really does give a lovely close shave and no nics! It has a 'serum' strip in the form of dots which help to make it a 'silky' shave. The head is easy to manipulate because it's not too big like some others on the market. It has a very comfortable handle and I dare say, if there was a 4.5 star rating I would give it that for sure
I especially love the little extras with this shaver like the infused marine extracts in the serum and the 'curved' sensing blades' which are responsible for such a beautiful close shave.

Unexpected surprise!
I received this razor for free for filling out a survey. I had already thought I found my holy grail razor however I decided to give this a chance anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised. Even though it claims you do not need shaving cream, I feel that you do. When used with a shaving cream this razor gives me a close and comfortable shave with no nicks or cuts around difficult areas such as knees and ankles.
After shaving I found that my legs stayed smooth for a longer time and I did not have to shave as often. I really enjoyed this razor and it has a lot of great features, such as an easy grip handle, and a snap on cover to cover the razor, making travelling easy. Safe to say I have found my new holy grail razor!

i really liked this razor, would say its the best one ive used and doesnt leave any little cuts or irritation. i shave quite often so my usual razors go blunt fairly quickly but this one hasnt seemed to blunt at all so far. i really like the moisturising serum that comes out of this, it makes it alot easier to shave, it just glides along although i wouldnt neccissarily say it left my skin feeling 'hydrated' just less dry than other shavers. i also think the shower holder is i really good idea. i got this as part of the trial team but would definitely purchase myself.

Smooth legs!
Packaging:<br />Simple and practical. In a razor, you don't need a fancy packaging as long as the quality of the razor is great
Performance:<br />With super sharp blades which glides across my legs, I absolutely love this razor!
Results:<br />Silky, smooth legs. Because the winter weather has been drying on my skin, I've been reluctant to shave especially since we can hide our legs with pants and stockings. When this razor arrived, I didn't want to shave my dry legs until I had to go out for a party and show a little leg. I tried this razor and was astounded by the result.<br />I love the smooth feeling but also it's not drying on the skin. No irritation!

Moisturising close shave
I was really excited to trial this razor and was impressed. It has a moisturising strip that is activated when the razor is under water. The strip releases a serum that moisturises your skin as you shave but I also found that it made the razor glide over my skin. You do still need to use a soap or shaving gel on your skin. I found that it left my skin feeling smoother and stayed smoother for longer. I don't really like the feel of the razor in my hand but I tank that is just out of habit as I've used another brand for years so I'm sure after time I'll get used to it.

the unique 5-blade system of this razor allows closer shaving and the moisturising strips on either side of the blades allow distribution of the serum before and after the blade touches your skin<br />I have never tried schick razors before, but one of the things that stood out to me the most was the upside down handle holder, allowing the water to drip away without corroding the blades over time! most razors have the normal upright holder and that makes the blades blunt over time
i super recommend this razor, however the downside is that the serum is almost on the slimey side, which i'm personally not a fan of, but they are no doubt very moisturising.<br />all in all, a really good razor and the 5 blades are crazy :P

The best of the best!
The Schick Hydro Silk razor arrived in my Marie Claire,"The Parcel". I thought it was just going to be an average razor but it contours perfectly providing a really close shave. The handle shape is really easy to hold with wet hands and even the plastic guard around the 5 blades are 100% perfectly shaped for a comfortable shave.
" Water activated moisturising serum", seriously I think this razor was actually designed for women by women! The only thing that throws me is the blue but thats no big deal.
I shave in the shower and I don't shave carefully but I have never cut my self and I will be buying this razor again. I would have to say that it is the perfect design all round and it deserves every award it has been given.

I am quite impressed!
Thank you BH for giving me the chance to try this product! I am really impressed with it. The Schick Hydro Silk Razor is very pretty and comes with an extra cartridge. It is well designed for an easy grip and has a hole for fitting the finger in for steadiness during the use. The 5 bladed razor glides really smoothly and gives a close and stubble free shave and I didn't have to pass over the same section again. The water activated moisturising serum left my legs feeling very smooth and very hydrated. Definitely better than my previous razor. Highly recommended.
